Job description

Position Description 
Manage insurance and surety programs and provide guidance and solutions to commercial construction clients. Lead problem solving for insurance solutions with teams and clients to ensure compliance with client's project and program insurance and surety requirements. 
Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities
Apply consultative approach to manage client insurance and surety programs. Oversee placement and management of active programs and termination of programs, including associated costs. 
Build trusted partnerships and maintain relationships with clients to ensure client satisfaction of inquiries, problems, and requests related to client insurance programs. 
Act as regional subject matter expert of insurance and surety programs, procedures, and practices. 
Manage lines of commercial insurance relevant to Stratus's clients including but not limited to: 
Commercial General Liability 
Builders Risk 
Workers Compensation 
Professional Liability 
Contractor's Pollution Liability 
Commercial Automobile Liability 
Contractor Controlled Insurance Program (CCIP) 
Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) 

 
Leverage internal teams, project resources, and clients to review, evaluate, and draft appropriate contract language compliant with client's insurance protocols. 
Collaborate with client leadership in promotion and placement of clients' insurance programs to enhance new business development opportunities and implement best in class risk management practices. 
In partnership with Business Development, review, evaluate and draft responses of insurance sections of Response for Proposals (RFP), Request for Quotes (RFQ), and Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) for clients. 
Manage and/or conduct analysis, review, and approval of standard contract insurance placement. Present recommendations and/or support team's presentation of analysis to client. 
Work in collaboration with internal resources to strategize on insurance and surety solutions for large, complex, and/or atypical projects not included with client's standard programs. 
Manage communication processes to deliver and resolve sensitive and confidential client information with diverse stakeholders. 
Demonstrate lean leadership and evaluate processes for continuous improvement opportunities to increase responsiveness to business needs and consistency and efficiency within team; establish and share best practices across team. 
Leverage historical data from prior projects to identify risk factors and create impact analysis summaries to assist client in project tracking and premium projections. 
Develop new and/or leverage existing training materials to train various target audiences on insurance programs including Corporate, Contractor Controlled Insurance Program (CCIP), Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP), Builders' Risk, and Subcontractor Default Insurance (SDI). 
Mentor and manage team of Insurance Analysts and Insurance Coordinators, oversee respective tasks and deliverables and nurture career development goals. 
Participate in hiring process, onboard and deliver timely performance feedback for direct reports, execute/contribute to performance appraisals during annual performance cycle, utilize talent management systems, and identify appropriate training to help with development needs. 
Participate in industry events, represent company, and set standards as industry leader. 
Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.

NY & NJ Salary Ranges: 141,000-180,000 (depending on experience)

CT Salary Ranges: 128,000-164,000 (depending on experience)
