Overview

Job Title: FI Program Manager                          

Location: NYC, Bronx, SI or Floral Park     

Reports to: Assistant VP of Self-Direction              

Department: Self Direction                                         

FLSA/Status: Exempt/FT

The FI Program Manager is responsible for managing a caseload of individuals receiving Self-Directed Services and ensuring full compliance with OPWDD regulations. This role requires timely oversight of documentation, fiscal accountability, and proactive stakeholder engagement, with performance measured through defined key performance indicators (KPIs).

Responsibilities
  • Caseload Management

Maintain oversight of assigned caseloads to ensure completion of required reviews

Ensure high levels of documentation completeness and accuracy

Promote positive participant and family satisfaction outcomes

  • Life Plan & Team Meetings

Participate in Life Plan meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions

Ensure documentation reflects alignment with FI and OPWDD requirements

Communicate identified issues or concerns to appropriate stakeholders in a timely manner

  • Stakeholder Communication & Coordination

Maintain consistent and professional communication with families, brokers, and internal departments

Ensure all communications are documented accurately

Support strong stakeholder relationships and satisfaction

  • Documentation Review & Compliance Oversight

Review and process all required documentation (Life Plans, LCED, DDP2, etc.)

Ensure documentation meets compliance and quality standards

Identify and address deficiencies to maintain regulatory compliance

Support audit readiness and successful audit outcomes

  • Fiscal Oversight (Invoices & Time Review)

Identify and resolve discrepancies

Ensure adherence to approved budgets and financial guidelines

  • Staff Action Plans, Monthly Notes & Broker Documentation

Review and approve Staff Action Plans and supporting documentation

Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant prior to approval

Monitor trends and recurring issues and implement corrective actions

  • Broker Oversight

Maintain regular collaboration with brokers to support participant needs

Monitor broker performance for adherence to service expectations and guidelines

Address performance concerns and document interactions

  • Compliance Monitoring & Issue Resolution

Identify, report, and address compliance concerns

Support corrective action efforts and resolution of non-compliant items

  • Medicaid Eligibility Monitoring

Monitor Medicaid eligibility status for assigned caseload

Address issues impacting eligibility and service continuation

Maintain accurate tracking of Medicaid-related requirements

  • Participant & Family Engagement

Maintain ongoing engagement with participants and families

Respond to inquiries and concerns in a professional and timely manner

Document all interactions

Support high levels of satisfaction and service quality

  • General Responsibilities

Complete assigned tasks and responsibilities in alignment with program expectations

Participate in required trainings and professional development

Contribute to program goals, quality improvement initiatives, and team success

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in health or human services or related field required
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in OPWDD system
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with Self-Directed Services
