Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Haverhill is a world-class manufacturer of precision machined aerospace components. We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Program Manager. The Senior Program Manager is responsible for all aspects of program management for multiple complex turbine engine component development, transfer and legacy activities at Magellan Aerospace.  The Senior Program Manager will be the program leader and key customer contact to develop, manage, report and execute new product development as well as legacy programs.  The Senior Program Manager will manage the introduction of new business into the Magellan Haverhill business unit and work to insure on-time schedule completion and the achievement of business goals and objectives.  This position requires close integration with Senior Management for all departments to coordinate the effective and efficient use of facilities and personnel as well as development of schedules and budgets, which requires the coordination of project teams, which range in size from three to ten manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, materials and operations staff, to drive project goals and completion milestones

The Salary Range for this Position is $90,000 - $110,000 annually

Essential Responsibilities

  • Define goals and deliverables in collaboration with external customer expectations and internal stakeholders including sales, quality, engineering, operations, finance, and materials. 
  • Plan and schedule multiple project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with cross-functional team members. 
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential barriers, and devise contingency plans. 
  • Develop effective communication tools and strategies to insure all parties are effectively informed. 
  • Clearly communicates all deliverables to team members and provides clear, frequent, and effective communications.
  • Define and assign roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities to support assigned projects. 
  • Develop risk and mitigation plans to minimize impact throughout project development and production life cycle. 
  • Cultivate strong inter and intra-departmental relationships and promote a positive, execution-focused work environment. 
  • Leads project status meetings and conducts presentations of project status to senior executives.
  • Communicate with Customer Representatives at all levels to report project status and required support. 
  • Report on program status to Magellan Haverhill team and Magellan Corporate Representatives.
  • Keeps management informed of project progress and problems, particularly in regards to schedules, resources, or changes in scope.
  • Analyze key delivery/schedule status and make recommendations to close gaps.
  • Monitor all assigned projects to ensure achievement of financial, safety, quality, and on-time delivery goals. 
  • Preparation of project plans and schedules, including requirements, tasks, work assignments, resources, and the inclusion of project milestones, review points, and reporting thereof.
  • Conduct Program Reviews, both internal and external on an as needed basis.
  • Ensure that all work and documentation meet the standards of the department and the project.
  • Fulfill administrative project reporting requirements.
  • Able to travel domestic and international.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in Business Administration) or equivalent experience.
  • Program Management Professional (PMP) or related professional experience.
  • Must demonstrate strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills and possess effective communication, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills and influence without direct authority.
  • Must demonstrate excellent verbal and writing skills for executive communications, proposals, and project reporting.
  • Minimum of six (6) years' work experience, two (2) of which must have been in Program Management.
  • Experience in project planning and technical coordination or as a leader of a subtask of a major project
  • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills with strong customer focus.
  • Ability to understand highly technical concepts and effectively communicate them at all levels.
  • Ability to lead complex projects and deliver them to a successful completion.
  • Outstanding skills in MS Office/MS Project
  • Ability to communicate well orally and in writing.
