Position Overview
The Senior Product Manager for the NGA AI/ML Program operates at the intersection of advanced technology and mission strategy, driving transformational outcomes across the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency's Digital Intelligence Environment (DIE).The selected candidate will champion AI- and deep learning-enabled solutions, translate user and mission needs into actionable product strategies, and guide cross-functional teams through the full product lifecycle. This role requires strong strategic judgment, technical fluency, and the ability to operate effectively within the Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD) environment.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Product Manager on the NGA AI/ML Program, you will:
  • Provide strategic insight and guidance on the applicability and direction of industry-standard AI/ML solutions.
  • Define and evolve product vision, strategy, and roadmaps aligned with NGA mission objectives.
  • Translate user needs and mission requirements into actionable product features and prioritized backlogs.
  • Monitor product performance and contribute to long-term planning and continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate organizational operational and functional baselines using industry-specific knowledge.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and executives to deliver strategic foresight and product guidance.
  • Participate in account strategy sessions, strategic assessments, and design reviews to validate enterprise approaches and deliverables.
  • Conduct user requirements analysis, feasibility studies, and resource planning.
  • Serve as a primary liaison between government stakeholders, users, and development teams.
  • Provide strategic and technical guidance to engineering staff on specifications, architectures, and system design.
  • Stay current with emerging AI/ML technologies, best practices, lessons learned, and assessment methodologies, applying them to the NGA environment.
  • Act as the primary interface among stakeholders, users, and delivery teams; represent the program at industry and government events.
  • Engage directly with users to uncover underlying needs and validate solutions.
  • Work closely with software engineering teams to deliver user experiences meeting IC, DoD, and federal workforce standards.
  • Support the full product lifecycle-from concept and design through development, deployment, and evaluation.
  • Manage continuous discovery and delivery to ensure customer-centric outcomes.
  • Communicate and advocate product vision and goals internally and externally.
  • Be accountable for successful, on-time delivery of mission-focused AI/ML products.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated product management experience in complex, fast-paced environments.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a data-driven decision-making approach.
  • Customer empathy and a user-centric mindset, including experience conducting user research and testing.
  • At least 6 months of hands-on experience or direct exposure to AI-related initiatives.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and adaptability in AI and emerging technologies, including ongoing learning through research, coursework, or professional development.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with senior leaders, technical teams, and government stakeholders.

Desired Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications in Product Management, Project Management, Agile, or Scrum (e.g., Scrum Master).
  • Experience leading high-performing teams delivering IT or AI-enabled solutions.
