Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. (QPWB), a multi-office national defense firm and the largest minority- and women-owned law firm in the United States, is seeking a Legal Assistant to join our Memphisoffice. This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.
Job Summary
The Legal Assistant in this role will support attorneys handling General Liability and Insurance Defense litigation matters. This is a hands-on position requiring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Draft and prepare correspondence and legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery, and reports under the attorney's direction
  • Maintain and manage attorney calendars, including trial and discovery deadlines
  • Schedule depositions, hearings, and other legal proceedings
  • Organize and maintain case files, including opening, closing, and ongoing file management
  • Monitor case progress and escalate issues requiring attorney involvement
  • Assist attorneys with time entry and billing support
  • Prepare, issue, and track subpoenas and other records requests
  • Handle state and federal e-filing of documents
  • Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel
  • Perform additional administrative and litigation support duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of legal assistant experience supporting litigators in general liability or insurance defense, preferably in a high-volume law firm environment
  • Strong working knowledge of civil litigation procedures
  • Experience with Tennessee state e-filing systems required; PACER experience a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
