Great American's Risk Management & Insurance Internship Program provides an accelerated introduction to the property and casualty insurance industry while offering exposure to a fast-paced corporate environment and Great American's entrepreneurial approach to risk management.

This program offers a personalized internship experience within a commercial specialty insurance carrier, providing meaningful opportunities to gain industry knowledge and practical business experience.

Responsibilities

Interns are assigned to a specific business unit and contribute to meaningful day-to-day assignments and a special project in an area such as underwriting, products or research.

To develop a broader understanding of the organization, interns have opportunities to connect with professionals across various functions within their assigned business unit.

Professional Development & Networking

In addition to hands-on learning, interns participate in networking events, professional development activities, and educational sessions with fellow interns, employees, and leaders from across Great American. These experiences are designed to enhance business knowledge, develop professional skills, and foster valuable connections throughout the organization.

The Risk Management & Insurance Internship Program offers an opportunity for personal and professional growth while contributing to one of the nation's leading property and casualty insurance organizations.

This is an underwriting-focused internship. This program takes place during a 10-week period from late May through early August.

Student Qualifications

  • A minimum GPA of 3.5

  • Demonstrated leadership through work experience, internships, co-ops, campus involvement, or extracurricular activities

  • Strong communication, analytical, planning, and organizational skills

  • Junior standing, with an expected graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028

Applications are being accepted for Summer 2027 Risk Management & Insurance Internship opportunities. Candidates from outside the Cincinnati area are encouraged to apply. Fully furnished housing will be provided for interns who relocate for the program.
