Purpose
The UEE Logistics Intern plays a vital role in supporting the execution of events by assisting with inventory management, storage, physical setup and breakdown of event spaces. This position is deigned to provide hands-on experience in event operations, logistics, and venue preparation. The intern will work closely with the Event Production & Logistics Team to ensure that all event environments are properly staged, safe, and aligned with client expectations. Responsibilities include: preparation of assets, setting up furniture, equipment, signage, and decor, as well as striking and storing materials post-event. This role offers exposure to the behind-the-scenes coordination required to deliver seamless and impactful events.

Responsibilities
Event Setup

• Prepare and pull inventory assets as needed for an event.
• Arrange tables, chairs, staging, pipe and drape, signage, and decor according to event layouts.
• Assist the AV equipment placement under supervision.
• Ensure all materials are clean, functional, and safely positioned.

Event Strike

• Disassemble and store furniture, equipment, and decor post-event.
• Return items to designated storage areas in an organized manner.
• Assist with venue reset for next scheduled activity.

Team Support

• Collaborate with full-time operations staff and other interns to meet setup timelines.
• Follow instructions and safety protocols during high-traffic or high-pressure moments.
• Provide courteous assistance to clients, vendors, and guests when appropriate.

Salary Range
$15.00/hour
Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a UT student with good academic standing.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects (50+ lbs) and stand for extended periods.
• WIllingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong work ethic
• Interest in event management, hospitality, or operations preferred.

Working Conditions

• This is an on-site position with schedule varying based on university and department schedules, and with the types of events scheduled and operational functions.
• May work late evenings and some weekends for scheduled events. Hours are subject to change.
• May work in all weather conditions.
• Regular attendance is required for this job.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. The University Development Office does not sponsor work visas for this position.
• This position is based in Austin, Texas.

Work Shift

• 20 hours per week.
• Position ends 5/31/2027.
• Some early mornings , evenings, and weekend work will be required.
