Job description

Kilpatrick, a large international law firm, is seeking a Financial Analyst for our Pricing & Analytics Department in our Atlanta office, working remotely. This position will be part of our team of attorneys, paralegals and support staff providing a high level of service to both internal and external clients. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our Pricing & Analytics team. This entry-level role supports the Firm's operational and strategic decision-making by developing and maintaining financial reporting solutions addressing internal financial performance and client / matter economics. The ideal candidate is analytically curious, comfortable working with large datasets, and eager to build expertise in a dynamic, fast-paced professional services environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Develop, publish, and maintain routine reports and Power BI dashboards that support firm leadership and practice group decision-making.
  • Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable visual outputs for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of all reporting deliverables.
  • Direct workflows for and respond to ad hoc reporting and data requests from attorneys, practice group leaders, and clients in a timely and professional manner.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to understand reporting needs and deliver analyses that directly support business development, client management, and operational decisions.
  • Communicate findings clearly and concisely, tailoring the level of detail and format to the audience.
  • Document reporting logic, data sources, and refresh processes.
  • Collaborate with broader Finance and Accounting teams to reconcile data and validate reporting outputs.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to automate or streamline reporting workflows.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, including report development, DAX formulas, and dataset publishing/management.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, financial modeling basics).
  • Ability to work with large, complex datasets and present findings clearly.
  • Proficiency in SQL or comparable data query tools preferred.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in a professional services, legal, or financial environment (internship experience counts).
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure.
  • Strong work ethic, flexible, dependable, and positive can-do attitude.
  • Ability to focus and deliver tangible results, diligent in achieving associated objectives.
  • Must be able to maintain high level of confidentiality.
  • Should have skills to coordinate resources to help others meet their objectives.

  • Interest or experience with applied mathematical and predictive modeling (statistics, machine learning, optimization, and / or simulation) preferred.
  • Familiarity with legal financial systems such as Aderant, Elite 3E, or similar platforms preferred.
  • Knowledge of law firm operations or legal industry metrics (e.g., realization, utilization, leverage) preferred.

This is a full-time, regular position with a multi-faceted health benefit package including medical, dental, and vision. The firm also offers life insurance, short term disability plans and retirement plans in addition to holidays and paid time off. The firm offers hybrid work schedules combining in office work days as well as remote work days. The pay range for this position in Atlanta only is $75,000 to $86,000 annually.
