Senior Data Consultant (Data Modelling & Insurance Domain)
Location:  Philadelphia, PA
Position type: Onsite role (need NJ, PA based candidates who can join immediately)
Tax type: W2 contract

Job Description:
This is a senior practitioner role responsible for designing and building Ontology.
The role bridges the gap between insurance finance business knowledge and formal ontology engineering, translating KPIs, into a machine-interpretable semantic model using OWL 2 / RDF standards.

Insurance Domain Expertise (Must-Have)

•               10 years of overll experience of which 5+ years working in insurance or reinsurance domains

•               Data Modelling & Ontology Engineering (Must-Have)

•               Demonstrated experience designing conceptual, logical, and physical data models in financial services contexts

•               Practical experience with ontology authoring tools (Protégé, WebProtégé, Metaphactory, or TopBraid) and semantic standards

•               Experience building or contributing to enterprise semantic data models, knowledge graphs, or FIBO/ACCORD aligned ontologies

•               Ability to translate business glossary terms, KPI definitions, and reporting hierarchies into formal ontology constructs (classes, properties, restrictions, named individuals)

•               Understanding of SPARQL for querying and validating graph data

Data Governance & Lineage (Preferred)

•            Experience with end-to-end data lineage documentation from source system to BI report

•            Familiarity with Microsoft Purview, Fabric catalog, or equivalent data governance tooling

•            Understanding of Critical Data Elements (CDEs), data quality rule libraries, and stewardship operating models
