We are a premier boutique estate planning firm in the Greater Boston area seeking an experienced Estate Administration Attorney to lead probate and trust settlement cases from start to finish. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, value direct client impact, and excel at managing complex estate matters independently, we'd love to connect.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Independently manage estate administration, probate, and trust settlement cases from start to finish.
  • Prepare and file Massachusetts estate tax returns, Federal estate tax returns, and gift tax returns (706/709).
  • Prepare, review, and submit necessary probate forms and court documents.
  • Obtain date-of-death valuations and secure required documentation for estate tax returns and settlement processes.
  • Oversee ongoing trust administration cases, handling trust and estate accounting duties.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, courts, and third parties, leading client meetings independently while delivering exceptional service.

Ideal Candidate Will Possess:
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with a client-first approach.
  • Thoughtful, diligent, highly organized, self-motivated, and detail oriented.
  • Ability to handle a large caseload, prioritize multi-tasking, and work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
  • Comfort with complex transfer tax systems and financial records related to estates and trusts.

Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of dedicated experience in probate and trust settlement required but as firm is growing, candidates with significantly more experience in this area will also be considered.
Tax Expertise: Demonstrated experience with Massachusetts estate tax returns, Federal estate tax returns, and the transfer tax system.
Preferred Experience:
  • Drafting probate and trust documents.
  • Estate, trust, and individual income tax return preparation.
  • Estate and trust accounting background.

Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of dedicated experience in probate and trust settlement is required but as firm is growing, candidates with significantly more experience in this area will also be considered.
License/Certification:
  • Active bar admission in Massachusetts required
  • Juris Doctor (Required)
