Job description

Segal McCambridge, a national litigation firm with nearly four decades of experience, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Insurance Coverage Group. This role focuses on third-party insurance coverage and bad faith matters on behalf of insurer clients and offers an outstanding opportunity to build sophisticated coverage and litigation experience within a collaborative, well-supported team. Attorneys in this position will manage their own case files with meaningful autonomy while benefiting from mentorship and training from partners with deep expertise in insurance coverage and bad faith litigation. The work is substantive, client-facing, and designed for attorneys who want to continue sharpening their skills in a thriving practice group.

What You'll Do

  • Handle third-party insurance coverage and bad faith matters from inception through resolution
  • Draft coverage opinions and reservation of rights letters
  • Represent insurers in coverage litigation and related bad faith proceedings
  • Analyze complex factual and legal issues and develop strategic recommendations
  • Collaborate with experienced attorneys while taking ownership of assigned matters

What We're Looking For

  • Active Florida law license in good standing
  • At least 2 years of experience in third-party insurance coverage and bad faith matters
  • Experience drafting coverage opinions and reservation of rights letters
  • Strong litigation skills, including motion practice and discovery
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and advocacy abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines efficiently
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality work product
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and within a team
  • Federal court experience preferred
