Summary:
HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Contracts Manager (Level 1) in Springfield, VA, to support the contract administration and business growth of the Warfare Systems Business Group. The ideal candidate is an experienced problem solver with strong skills in contracts management and cost proposal development. This position reports to the WS Contracts Director and supports all aspects of contract administration for the Business Group.
What You Will Do:
  • Serve as a contractual business advisor to line management (Business Group President, Operations Managers, Program Managers) and functional management (Procurement, Pricing, Finance/Accounting, Costpoint Team, Business Operations, and Project Control) on contractual and proposal matters.
  • Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations, including reporting requirements.
  • Ensure contracts, proposals, and work products comply with HII policies and Contracts Department processes, and that contract files include appropriate documentation to support compliance.
  • Negotiate terms of contract documents, including but not limited to Contracts, Cost Proposals, NDAs, and Teaming Agreements.
  • Support proposal development by analyzing Requests for Proposal (RFPs) to determine contractual requirements necessary for a compliant, responsive, and competitive proposal. Follow corporate policies and procedures to obtain proper approvals.
  • Become a skilled user of Unison Contract Lifecycle Management software, maintaining cradle-to-grave contract information.
  • Communicate effectively within the team, across the company, and with customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For:
  • 4 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 2 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years relevant progressive experience.
  • Top Secret Clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI/Poly.

Preferred Experience:
  • Experience managing contracts, subcontracts, and/or pricing professionals.
  • Experience with Firm Fixed Price contract types.
  • 10+ years of government contracting experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of FAR/DFARS.
  • Experience supporting proposal efforts, including the management of cost narratives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
