Job description

The Opportunity:
The Client Service Manager (CSM) will consistently provide the highest level of day-to-day client service to small business clients. The CSM will help grow the assigned small business book and contribute to the overall growth, retention, and profitability of the assigned book and small business insurance department.
Are You A Match?
The CSM will sit preferably in our Ann Arbor, Toledo, or Detroit offices, and needs to have exceptional communication skills, relationship development, and the ability to effectively multi-task. Managing client requests, prioritizing projects, and working with tight deadlines are all essential to success in this role. Prior experience servicing Commercial Insurance in the Transportation industry a must. Working knowledge of Applied EPIC is beneficial.
In This Role You Will Execute On:

  • Provide prompt, accurate and thoughtful service to clients striving to exceed client's expectations.
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with carrier underwriters.
  • Ability to quote, process changes, pull coverage forms, use carrier websites.
  • Review coverages and make suggestions for new coverages.
  • Round out current policies with missing lines.
  • Proactively remarket when needed.
  • Process certificates and evidences of insurance.
  • Negotiate with carriers for positive client outcomes on pricing, underwriting, applications being required.
  • Produce quality proposals in epic or excel spreadsheets for renewals and new business.
  • Ability to manage and maintain accurate records for the clients within EPIC.
  • Understand multiple lines of coverages and be able to explain and discuss coverages with clients, assist with billing questions, audit issues and policy changes.

In This Role You Will Need:

  • Prior Experience servicing clients in the Transportation and Logistics industry.
  • Exceptional communication skills; including listening, speaking and writing.
  • Exceptional relationship development and intrapersonal skills.
  • Exceptional follow-up skills.
  • Ability to work well with others; respect opinions, contributions and abilities of others.
  • Cooperative and open-minded.
  • Ability to multi-task and juggle many different client requests, prioritize projects and deadlines.
  • Strong general technology skills including quick tech learner.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point).
  • Good working knowledge and usage of Applied EPIC.
  • Strong soft skills, work ethic and ownership mentality.

  • Active Property & Casualty Insurance license.
  • Bachelor's degree or equal experience preferred.
