About the Role

An independent insurance agency has a newly created leadership opportunity to oversee its commercial lines division. As Director, Commercial Insurance Client Service you are involved with all facets of the department’s account activities and develop the infrastructure to prepare for continued growth. This is a dual role where you will serve as the Account Executive for some clients and also manage the commercial service team.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee department operations to include workflows, workload and client assignments, best practices, audits, compliance, and other similar matters.
  • Supervise the client service team. Participate in recruiting and hiring. Train, coach, and mentor employees. Provide performance feedback and conduct reviews. Support team members to manage their books of business. Help resolve escalated client service issues.
  • Promote department growth. Work with the agency’s sales and leadership teams to identify opportunities for new account development, cross-selling initiatives, and market expansion.
  • Strength relationships with insurance company partners and optimize ways to do business with them.

Skills & Experience

  • At least 7-10 years of property and casualty insurance experience with a strong understanding of the agency client service process. Prior management experience is required.
  • Experience with employee development and management to include things like training, mentorship, and career development.
  • Active state insurance license.
