Great American's Embedded Solutions group is a newly established team focused on launching innovative insurance products such as Single-Family Renters and Multi-Family Renters programs.

The Embedded Solutions Group is hiring a Claim Representative! Great American's culture is built on connection, shared learning, and strong relationships. To support this, employees in this role are expected to be onsite four days a week, with the flexibility to work one day remotely. Core in-office days are Tuesday–Thursday, with the fourth day determined by business needs.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
  • Own content claims from first notice of loss through resolution.
  • Manage a high-volume inventory of contents claims while delivering an exceptional and seamless customer experience.
  • Plans and conducts claim investigations to confirm coverage and to determine compensability and damages.
  • Maintain regular communication with insureds, vendors, and other parties throughout the life of the claim.
  • Review and analyze inventory lists, receipts, photographs, and supporting documentation to evaluate claimed damages.
  • Negotiates appropriate claim settlements/reserves within prescribed authority.
  • Conveys moderately complex information regarding coverage and settlements to insureds.
  • Authorizes payments in accordance with assigned authority limit and ensures payments are made in a timely manner.
  • Maintains accurate and detailed claim files, including all correspondence, reports, and settlement agreements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Risk Management & Insurance, Finance, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
  • Prior customer service, insurance, claims, or related experience is preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience handling customer inquiries, resolving issues, or working in a fast-paced service environment preferred.
  • Insurance, property and casualty, or claims experience is helpful but not required.
  • Experience working in roles that require investigation, fact gathering, documentation, negotiation, or problem solving is preferred.
  • Some understanding of property and casualty insurance policies, coverage interpretation, and claims handling practices.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document claim files.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current adjuster license preferred but not required.
  • Prior property and casualty claim handling experience.
  • Ability to manage assigned claim inventory with appropriate guidance and supervision.
  • Ability to apply strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills to effectively evaluate and resolve claims.
  • Some knowledge of industry regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
