We are seeking a Full-Time Insurance Authorization Coordinator in our Chesapeake office to obtain insurance authorizations for Home Health Care services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Medical office and or home health care experience (preferred)

  • Insurance authorizations experience

  • Must be customer service oriented, detail oriented and an above average communicator

  • Must be organized and be able to multi-task

  • Must be able to read, write and maintain records in English

JOB SUMMARY:

The Insurance Authorization Coordinator is responsible for obtaining the initial and continuing authorizations. This position ensures all patient services are verified and authorized.

RESPONSIBILITIES (Include but not limited to):

  • Obtain initial insurance authorization on all new referrals that require pre-authorization

  • Develop a positive rapport with staff members, payor representatives and community resources

  • Involved in the provision or receipt of home care and hospice services

  • Any other duties as assigned by the Director of Intake Services or Billing Manager

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Experience:

• Insurance verification: 1 year (Preferred)

• Medical billing: 1 year (Preferred)
