Job description

Troutman Pepper Locke is seeking a Career Associate to join our Insurance + Reinsurance Litigation Practice Group. We are looking for individuals with 5 or more years of insurance coverage and commercial litigation experience with a preference for someone licensed in California, but open to any of our offices. Successful candidates will have an understanding of first- and third-party insurance coverage matters, with a particular emphasis on commercial general liability, commercial property, and specialty lines matters. An understanding of, and experience handling cyber, tech E&O, and media matters is a plus. The ideal candidate will be energized by complex coverage questions, be able to think creatively to resolve issues and disputes under challenging circumstances, and be comfortable assisting with high-stakes coverage litigation in courts and alternative dispute forums across the U.S. Primary functions of this role will be to analyze and interpret insurance policies, distill often dense information into easily understandable and digestible formats, draft detailed coverage reports and opinions, draft coverage letters and other correspondence for all stages of a matterโ€™s lifecycle, and help prepare submissions for court, arbitration, and mediation. Applicants must have excellent academic credentials and demonstrate superior research and writing ability. We are seeking highly motivated candidates who appreciate innovative thinking and are able to work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively with a team.
