Job description


A medical facility is seeking an Insurance Assistant to work part-time. Schedule is Monday through Friday: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. or 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and then again from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. or 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Job Duties:
  • Answer and return phone calls, as well as, monitor and respond to emails and secure messages
  • Support new client intake coordination
  • Add and track inquiries within our client log
  • Follow up with prospective clients regarding scheduling and paperwork completion
  • Collect and forward insurance information to billing
  • Communicate cancellations and updates to clinicians/staff
  • Monitor intake workflow daily to ensure follow-through and completion of next steps
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communication records
  • Participate in training, support, or team meetings

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Healthcare, mental health, intake coordination, or administrative support experience is preferred
  • Familiarity with HIPAA/confidentiality expectations preferred
  • Must be comfortable using email, spreadsheets, scheduling systems, phone applications, and remote communication platforms and able to learn and navigate multiple systems efficiently
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills while being detail-oriented, organized, and highly responsive
  • Must have the ability to effectively track communication, follow-up tasks, and workflow progress
  • Must be professional, warm, client-focused, dependable, thoughtful, and proactive who can help strengthen communication flow and support both our clients and clinicians effectively
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality
