About Our Client

Our client is a well-established independent insurance agency based out of Miami, FL. With over five decades of insurance agency experience, they have a strong reputation for performance and client service excellence. The agency offers both personal and commercial insurance solutions. Their business model revolves around working closely with their book of business, providing a personal and understanding touch. Role Overview
The Junior Accountant role is an entry-level position that supports our agency's Accounting Department. This individual will have responsibility for daily bookkeeping, with an emphasis on deposit processing. The role supports the agency's financial operations by recording and reconciling incoming funds across various payment types (EPAY batches, wires, ACH payments, physical checks) and assisting to keep accounts balanced and accurate. Hands-on training will be provided as needed. Your key responsibilities may include:

    • Processing incoming premium payments from clients and vendors
    • Performing reconciliations, updating accounts receivable, and issuing invoices
    • Processing financial entries to ensure a proper recording of all business transactions
    • Updating financial data in databases to ensure the accuracy of the information
    • Preparing and submitting monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 1-3 years work experience in Accounting
  • Insurance industry experience is a bonus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, including Excel
  • Must be able to work on-site in Miami, FL
