Job description

Position Overview

Our client is seeking an Accounting Clerk to join their accounting team in Memphis, TN. This position will report directly to the Controller and is intended for someone who has the potential to grow into an Assistant Controller role in the future.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Controller with accounting operations, financial reporting, and special projects
  • Learn the company's business, products and core accounting functions (AP, AR, customer invoicing)
  • Serve as the Controller's primary backup and gradually assume higher-level responsibilities in preparation for future advancement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of three years of accounting experience
  • Understanding of general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, financial reporting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Strong process-improvement and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Compensation
