Job description

Job Description 

PCI is seeking an experienced Mechanical Insulation Estimator for its PCI Indianapolis, IN 551 operations based in Carmel, IN. This individual will create comprehensive estimates for bidding prospective mechanical insulation work. 

Additional responsibilities include: Performing quantity takeoffs on construction projects

Establish labor productivities for estimate

Maintain positive relationships with area vendors for competitive material and equipment pricing

Solicit subcontractor pricing for work done outside of our self-perform group

Understand the market conditions including competitive approach, backlog, level or risk for work and other factors for establishing margin percentages

Be involved in the internal bid reviews with supervisors and project team

Participate in the customer alignment objectives of the branch by creating and maintaining positive customer relations

Contract administration for secured projects

Prepare wage and benefit schedules

Assist in the hand-off of secured projects to the Operations Team

Assist in other duties as assigned such as change order management or billings depending on the project(s)

Salary range: $92,000 - $110,000 annual base salary plus eligibility for the non-guaranteed annualized bonus program

This position is safety sensitive.

Basic Requirements

Must have at least 3-5 years of professional experience estimating construction projects

Must have experience estimating the mechanical insulation scope of construction subcontracts

Strong ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings for PCI’s scopes of work

Has a strong record of establishing and maintaining successful customer relationships

Displays excellent verbal communication

Demonstrates strong customer service skills with an ability to foster professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Possesses a high level of attention to detail and cost analysis competency

Ability to accurately read schedules for sequencing and durations of applicable scopes of work

Must have proficiency with digital construction takeoff and estimating software, such as On-Screen Takeoff and Quick Bid

Proven ability to proactively identify opportunities, think creatively to develop solutions, and drive results in a competitive environment

Must be able to effectively collaborate within a team

Preferred Requirements

Multiple years' experience estimating mechanical insulation on non-residential construction projects is highly preferred

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science or Construction Management preferred

OSHA certifications

Local to the Seattle area preferred
