Job Summary
As an Insulation & Air Quality Lead at Hoffmann Brothers in Nashville, you will play a pivotal role in launching and leading our new insulation and duct cleaning division. This is a unique opportunity to help build a department from the ground up while setting the standard for quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. You will lead attic insulation and duct cleaning projects from start to finish, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the high standards Hoffmann Brothers is known for. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with blown-in insulation, with spray foam experience strongly preferred, and enjoys leading a crew while delivering an exceptional customer experience. You will work closely with customer-experienced coordinators and dispatchers to ensure seamless service execution. This position offers outstanding career growth and the opportunity to make a lasting impact as you help establish and grow one of the newest service lines at Hoffmann Brothers' fastest-growing location.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise 1 Apprentice on residential and light commercial projects.
  • Install blown-in attic insulation according to company and manufacturer standards.
  • Prepare job sites by protecting customer property and ensuring a safe work environment.
  • Inspect attics for ventilation, air leaks, moisture concerns, and other conditions that may impact installation.
  • Operate and maintain insulation blowing equipment and other job-site tools.
  • Measure attic spaces and calculate insulation quantities needed for each project.
  • Train and mentor crew members on installation techniques, safety procedures, and quality expectations.
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners and answer questions throughout the installation process.
  • Has working knowledge of all types of insulation installation (blown-in, spray foam, and batts) and consistently performs quality checks.
  • Perform whole-home duct cleaning using truck-mounted or portable vacuum and agitation equipment to remove dust, debris, and allergens from supply and return ductwork.
  • Inspect ductwork for leaks, disconnections, microbial growth, or damage, and recommend repairs or sealing as needed.
  • Clean supply and return vents, grilles, and register covers as part of a full-system service.
  • Sanitize ductwork and apply antimicrobial treatments when appropriate, following manufacturer and industry standards.
  • Educate homeowners on indoor air quality benefits and recommended maintenance following duct cleaning service.
  • Complete projects on schedule while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
  • Follow all OSHA and company safety guidelines.
  • Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and inventory.

Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience installing blown-in attic insulation.
  • Previous experience leading or supervising installation crews OR previous leadership experience in general.
  • Experience operating insulation blowing machines and related equipment.
  • Ability to work safely in attics, crawl spaces, and varying weather conditions.
  • Comfortable working on ladders and in confined spaces.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds on a regular basis.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Preferred Requirements
  • Experience installing spray foam insulation (highly desirable but not required).
  • Experience with residential duct cleaning equipment and techniques (vacuum/agitation systems, video inspection).
  • Experience with air sealing, attic ventilation, or energy efficiency upgrades.
  • Service Titan Experience
  • OSHA safety certification.

Physical Requirements & Work Conditions
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in hot, dusty, and confined attic/crawlspace environments.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crawl, and stand for extended periods.
