Closets by Design is a nationally recognized leader in home organizing systems. We design, manufacture, and install a complete line of custom closets, home office furniture, media systems, wall-beds, garage cabinetry and more. Position Summary

We are seeking a handsโ€‘on Production Manager to partner with our Operations Manager in leading daily factory operations, workforce execution, production flow, and job readiness.

This role is critical to ensuring our factory runs efficiently, production is completed ahead of installation schedules, and all jobs are completed with quality, accuracy, and accountability.

This is a leadership role for someone who leads from the front โ€” someone comfortable operating machinery, directing a team, solving problems, and improving processes in a fastโ€‘paced production environment.

Responsibilities
  • Manage daily factory operations and production employees
  • Partner with the Operations Manager to execute daily and weekly production schedules
  • Ensure jobs are prioritized correctly based on installation timelines
  • Monitor production flow and adjust labor as needed to prevent delaysLead the shop floor handsโ€‘on, including operating machinery when needed
  • Ensure all machines are running efficiently and maintained properly
  • Enforce quality assurance standards throughout production
  • Work with QC to ensure jobs are complete, accurate, and ready ahead of installation
  • Identify and resolve missing parts, errors, bottlenecks, and production issues
  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and efficient shop environment
  • Forecast production needs and communicate inventory/material shortages
  • Develop and improve processes to increase output, reduce errors, and support company growth
  • Build and lead a highโ€‘performing team with a positive, accountable culture
Requirements
  • Prior factory, shop, or production management experience required
  • Woodworking, cabinetโ€‘making, closet, millwork, or similar manufacturing experience required
  • 32mm system experience is a plus
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problemโ€‘solving skills
  • Ability to multiโ€‘task in a fastโ€‘paced production environment
  • Ability to stay calm and make good decisions under pressure
  • Comfortable leading both people and production processes
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Must be able to develop a team, enforce standards, and drive accountability
