What does an inside sales representative trainee do?

An Inside Sales Representative Trainee is an entry-level team member who learns how to sell products or services by communicating with customers primarily via phone, email, or online platforms. Their main responsibilities include generating leads, qualifying prospects, making sales presentations, and supporting the sales process under the guidance of senior staff. Trainees receive training in product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer relationship management to prepare them for a full sales role. This position is often a stepping stone to becoming a full Inside Sales Representative. To thrive as an Inside Sales Representative Trainee, you need strong interpersonal communication skills, basic sales knowledge, and at least a high school diploma or equivalent. Persistence, active listening, and the ability to build rapport over the phone are standout soft skills in this role.
