What is an inside sales rep?

Inside Sales Reps are sales professionals who primarily work from an office or remote location to sell products or services to customers, rather than meeting them face-to-face. They use phone calls, emails, and online meetings to reach potential clients, manage accounts, and close deals. Inside Sales Reps are responsible for identifying leads, following up with prospects, and maintaining customer relationships to achieve sales targets. This role often requires strong communication skills, persistence, and the ability to learn about the products or services being sold.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an inside sales rep, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Inside Sales Rep, you need strong communication, persuasion, and negotiation skills, typically supported by a background in sales or customer service. Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software, phone systems, and basic sales analytics tools is often required. Resilience, active listening, and the ability to build rapport quickly are standout soft skills in this role. These skills and qualities are crucial for consistently meeting sales targets and fostering positive client relationships in a competitive sales environment.

What are some common challenges an inside sales rep faces when working with leads and how can they be overcome?

Inside Sales Reps often encounter challenges such as reaching decision-makers, handling objections, and maintaining consistent follow-up with leads. Overcoming these obstacles typically involves leveraging CRM tools to track interactions, personalizing communication to address specific client needs, and developing strong listening and problem-solving skills. Collaborating closely with marketing and account management teams also helps ensure a seamless handoff and enhances the chances of converting leads to customers.

Job description

Job Description:
Inside Sales Representative
ACIMA
The Inside Sales Representative position is a tremendous opportunity for the right salesperson. Our industry is exploding and the ability to earn great money in an enjoyable role could not be better than what Acima is offering.
The Inside Sales Representative works with existing and prospective merchants as retail partners with Acima. They enroll new merchants and train them on how to offer Acima's leasing option. We accomplish this by cold calling retailers from inside of our corporate office in Draper, UT. We take great pride in the fact that our sales reps know how to prospect, close, and train their own merchants. This includes using the company's online portal to manage their applications, answer general questions, and provide program support to merchants. Inside Sales Representatives are also responsible to grow their merchant lease production.
Because this growth is highly valued by Acima, Inside Sales Representatives start by earning a competitive salary. Once the personal production and commissions generated exceed the salary, the Inside Sales Representative will be commissioned based on lease production and on the growth of their merchants.
Why you should work with Acima
We provide the tools to succeed. Our product is a no cost product to the merchant. Yes, it's free. We provide the training, leads, Salesforce CRM, inContact automatic dialer, and the best product on the market. You will be building your own book of business, that means residual income. Our culture is very important, this means that we have established rules of engagement to protect our sales reps from stepping on top of each other. We believe in growing and working as a team. This means catered lunches, team building activities, and other incentives.
Schedule and Compensation
  • Inside Sales Representatives earn hourly plus bonus/commission. First-year reps typically earn around $70K as they build their books of business, while more tenured reps usually make between $120K and $150K.
  • Full-Time Position
  • Our department is open Monday - Friday

Requirements:
  • Proven sales track record of 2+ years of demonstrated success
  • Account Executive or Inside Sales experience of 2+ years preferred
  • Cold calling experience
  • Salesforce CRM experience preferred
  • Automatic dialer experience preferred
  • Possess a positive attitude with a competitive drive

If you're a proven hunter and closer, regardless of experience, we want you!
