About InnKeeper Hospitality Services

InnKeeper Hospitality Services (IHS) is the hotel management affiliate of Restoration St. Louis, a leading historic real estate development and hospitality company. IHS operates a small, curated portfolio of branded and independent hotels across Missouri, Iowa and Florida, with several properties under Marriottโ€™s Autograph Collection and Tribute Portfolio, including Hotel Saint Louis, Seven Gables Inn, Hotel Blackhawk, The Current Iowa, and The Warrior, as well as the forthcoming Gulfstream Hotel in Lake Worth Beach, Florida. Our properties combine historic architecture with modern luxury, and our accounting and finance function supports a complex ownership structure involving multiple entities, historic tax credit (HTC) projects, and multi-lender relationships.

Position Summary

The Vice President of Hotel Accounting is responsible for leading the enterprise-wide hotel accounting function for the IHS portfolio. This critical executive role oversees the property-level and corporate accounting teams that support a diverse group of branded and independent hotels. Responsibilities include organization and management of the hotel accounting teams in various locations, timely production of monthly financial statements and ownership reporting packages. They manage the maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of internal controls that mitigate risk and ensure the accuracy of reported financial results in compliance with U.S. GAAP and the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI).

The VP partners closely with the leadership team and vendors/partners to deliver accurate, timely, and decision-useful financial information across the portfolio.

Duties & ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Management
  • Intentionally lead the IHS hotel accounting team to ensure the timely and accurate preparation of accounting records and financial statements for all managed properties.
  • Plan and organize the work of the corporate and property accounting teams, adjusting team priorities as needed to meet all internal, ownership, lender, brand, and franchise reporting deadlines.
  • Develop and implement procedures and training to promote efficient, effective, and timely completion of accounting activities by property accountants and corporate accounting staff.
  • Build, mentor, and retain a small high-performing accounting team that operates effectively in both on-site and hotel based working environments.
Financial Reporting & Controls
  • Review and approve monthly property-level financial statements, consolidated reporting packages, and supporting schedules across the IHS portfolio.
  • Oversee the accounting and internal control functions of the property and corporate accounting teams to ensure ongoing compliance with company policy, GAAP, and USALI.
  • Maintain a comprehensive system of accounting records and internal controls designed to mitigate risk and safeguard assets across multiple entities.
  • Ensure timely production of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; ownership reporting packages; budget-to-actual analyses; and periodic reports required by lenders and ownership.
Ownership, Brand, and Lender Relationships
  • Ensure compliance with and satisfaction of all government, company, franchise (including Marriott Autograph Collection and Tribute Portfolio brand standards), tax credit, and ownership requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including ownership, regional leaders, general managers, property controllers, and brand representatives.
Operational Partnership
  • Communicate with and provide training to the Operations team to assist with compliance, financial literacy, and controls at the property level.
  • Research and provide analysis and insight into financial trends, operational issues, and variances to budgets and forecasts as needed by the Operations team.
  • Contribute to the overall team effort by working with the President and other members of Executive Management on strategic initiatives and cross-functional priorities.

Successful Candidate Profile
  • Proven ability to build solid working relationships with a variety of personalities โ€” operators, owners, lenders, auditors, and brand partners.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and forward-looking ability with strong project management discipline.
  • A hands-on leadership approach to the accounting team, hotel operations, and corporate leadership.
  • Ability to strike a balance between the tactical requirements of the position and longer-term strategic planning.
  • Comfortable leading a team that operates partially at the hotel locations and across multiple states.
  • Welcomes the challenge of a fast-growing, entrepreneurial hospitality and real estate company and can problem-solve in the moment.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Minimum 7+ yearsโ€™ experience in a senior-level accounting role, with progressive leadership responsibility.
  • Site-level hotel or hospitality accounting experience required; multi-property and multi-brand experience strongly preferred.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Hospitality required.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant designation preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI).
  • Experience with hotel-industry accounting and PMS platforms (e.g., ProfitSword/ProfitSage, M3, Hotel Effectiveness, Birchstreet) preferred.
  • Familiarity with Marriott brand reporting requirements is a strong plus.
  • Proven leadership in a team environment, with a high sense of urgency, detail orientation, and results-driven mindset.
  • Strong communication skills, business acumen, and the ability to relate clearly to non-financial colleagues and ownership.
