HOTEL NIGHT MANAGER 3PM TO 11PM HILTON GARDEN INN BROOKLINE, MA
Join Our Team as a Hotel Night Manager for the 3:00PM -11:00PM shift
This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel during nighttime hours, providing exceptional service to our guests and maintaining the accuracy of financial records.
Claremont Companies is headquartered in Lakeshore Center in Bridgewater, Massachusetts. Claremont Companies is a privately owned and closely held real estate investment, development, and asset management firm. Today, Claremont owns more than 60 real estate assets consisting of hotels, apartments, retail centers, and office buildings with plans to expand even further.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Night Manager manages all operational aspects of the front office on the evening shift as well as providing leadership and support to all members of the Front Office.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage and monitor activities of all employees in the Front Office department on the evening shift making sure they adhere to the Seven Principles of Service and to the guidelines set in the employee handbook, hotel policies and procedures, coaching, training, and correcting where needed.
  • Act as a manager on duty for the hotel, dealing with complaints, problem solving, disturbances, special requests, and any other issues that may arise.
  • Inform all Front Office staff of daily activities, group, and VIP arrivals as well as special requests and repeat guests. Check accommodations, making sure any special requests are carried out accordingly. Greet guests upon arrival and ensure escort to accommodations if appropriate.
  • Work closely with the Housekeeping Department to improve guest services and foster cross departmental communication.
  • Be aware and able to enforce all emergency and safety procedures. Remain current in all updates with regards to new procedures and training. Ensure staff are fully trained in emergency procedures. This position is a member of the hotel’s emergency response team.
  • Responsible for all operational duties of the Front Office during evening shifts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
Requirements:
  • Supervisory experience in hotel setting a plus.
  • One to three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be proficient in the use of common Windows based computer programs, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must be able to operate basic office machines, i.e., copier, fax, printer, etc.
  • Must be flexible in hours and days worked.
  • Must display very good organization and time management skills.
  • Hilton Brand experience preferred but not required.
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with many types of personalities.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from groups of managers, coworkers, vendors, and guests.
  • Experience with hospitality industry software desired.
  • Ability to proficiently handle multiple simultaneous demands.
  • Must exercise discretion, finesse and good judgement in handling issues that arise during the course of business.
