A night in the lifeAs the plant winds down for the evening, you arrive ready to keep production running. You begin with a preventative walk-through, verifying temperatures, pressures, and cycle times on injection molding presses and checking auxiliary systems. A press signals a fault; you step in—lockout/tagout, disassemble and inspect key components, mic critical surfaces, replace worn bearings, align drives, and bring the cell back online. Mid-shift, you partner with a senior mechanic to plan a rebuild, review parts lists with your supervisor, and coordinate with a contractor about an upcoming equipment move. Before sunrise, you finish an alignment using precision instruments and document the corrective actions that kept throughput on target.
