Title: Procurement Manager - Masterpack and Ingredient Sourcing                                                 
Salary Range: $112,000 - $116,000 Annually 

Status: Exempt                                               
Location: Salinas, CA                                        
Reports to: Sr. Director, Procurement 

 
GENERAL DISCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Procurement Sourcing Manager โ€“ Masterpack & Ingredient Sourcing is responsible for developing and executing non-strategic category sourcing approaches that ensures a reliable supply, for creating an approach to sourcing that drives competitive costs and continuous improvement, and for developing a supplier base that performs well relative to performance KPIs.
This role manages all non-strategic Ingredient spend within a category management framework โ€“ developing differentiated sourcing approaches, leading sourcing execution and negotiations, and partnering closely with Operations, R&D, Quality, and Finance to support product launches, cost savings initiatives, and assessing supplier performance. The ideal candidate brings strong commercial acumen, technical understanding of ingredients, and a proactive approach to driving out cost, increasing Company value.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS / DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
โ€ข    Assures that there is an underlying category management foundation in place and develops/executes Ingredient go-to-market sourcing approaches consistent with the segmentation driven overarching approach to Ingredient sourcing
โ€ข    With Ingredient Operations, evaluates supply and supplier market data and analytics to develop fact-based decisions when developing and executing go-to-market approaches 
โ€ข    Leads all go-to-market execution elements โ€“ competitive bidding, supplier selection and deal finalization, and contract negotiations to secure optimal pricing, terms, and service levels
โ€ข    With support from Procurement Operations, develops the signature RFx approaches that are used for executing go-to-market strategies 
โ€ข    Deploys the ogC supplier relationship management framework to create differentiated supplier relationships and differentiated performance expectations to create both cost and value impact  
โ€ข    Leads all supplier interfaces and partners with Marketing, R&D and Operations to support key Ingredient projects โ€“ Ingredients and supplier changes, value engineering and innovation, process improvements and commercialization
โ€ข    Works with Quality and Food Safety teams to ensure all Ingredients meet regulatory and company standards
โ€ข    Maintains ongoing review of supply risks and develops mitigation strategies with Procurement Operations 
โ€ข    Supports targeted sustainability initiatives 
โ€ข    Supports development and implementation of Procurement policies, governance, controls, and standard operating procedures.
โ€ข    Supports the establishment of KPIs and dashboards to track performance, cost savings, supplier reliability, and compliance
โ€ข     Continually works on personal development, functional and leadership competencies, with direction from the Director of Direct Material Sourcing 
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:
โ€ข    5 years or more of experience in Procurement, with Ingredient sourcing experience in CPG and Ag/Produce highly preferable
โ€ข    Category management knowledge and experience preferable, from segmentation through to supplier relationship management
โ€ข    Current understanding of Ingredients, Ag/produce in particular โ€“ supplier manufacturing processes, upstream supply chain, performance, regulatory compliance, and cost drivers
โ€ข    Proficiency with ERP systems, Microsoft Office tools and strong analytical skills 
โ€ข    Experience with value engineering or Ingredient optimization projects
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 
โ€ข    Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and lift to 25 pounds on an infrequent basis
WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 
โ€ข    Ability to work beyond normal business hours, weekends and some company holidays as needed
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
โ€ข    4-year Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Supply Chain preferred
