Systems Engineer

ROLE:

The successful candidate is an energetic self-starter with excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, working on a team that implements, and supports mission critical server and system infrastructure. The Systems Engineer role is responsible for assisting other team members in implementing solutions in consideration of high availability, resilience, manageability, and reliability requirements.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Support and manage server infrastructure across multiple US Data Centers.
  • Build, manage, and maintain Windows-based systems, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability.
  • Build, and configure systems as requested by the business and other technical teams.
  • Support all existing physical and virtual infrastructure.
  • Monitor system performance, analyze logs, and troubleshoot systems to ensure optimal uptime and reliability.
  • Work with other team members to identify, develop, and support Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for infrastructure systems.
  • Provide hands-on support of systems, software, and technology.
  • Identify, scope, and execute project implementations, ensure that all objectives and deadlines are met.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Identify and implement improvements of processes, support models, and technologies.
  • Interface with vendors and occasionally customers, in a professional manner.
  • Participate in projects and efforts that may require an after-hours change window.
  • Availability to provide after-hours support in critical situations.
  • Interface with other business units to ensure regulatory and legal compliance.
  • Advise other implementers and technicians regarding technical efforts and priorities, step in as Level 3 support when required.
  • Work closely with the Security Operations group to assist in the identification, response, and remediation of potential security issues.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or related technical discipline or sufficient combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience working with server infrastructure.
  • Technical and software application support experience with Windows Server.
  • Technical experience with various virtualization platforms.
  • Experience with enterprise Windows clients and supporting technologies.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy.
  • Experience supporting datacenter HVAC and Power systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and manage complex technical issues across a variety of platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills, believing in collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Ability to work effectively across a Global IT organization and business functional areas.
  • Experience with corporate IT processes such as Change Management, Root Cause Analysis, and Internal Audit.
  • Experience with the following technologies is a plus:
