About the Role:

The System Engineer is responsible for maintaining and optimizing Steele Solutions' enterprise infrastructure, including on-premise and cloud environments, networking, identity and access management, and business-critical systems. This role ensures secure, reliable, and efficient technology operations while supporting cloud transformation, infrastructure modernization, and continuous improvement initiatives. The System Engineer partners with business stakeholders, vendors, and IT team members to deliver technology solutions that align with organizational goals and support business growth.

Key technologies include: Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, VMware, Hyper-V, backup and recovery solutions, and enterprise networking systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure solutions using platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Implement and maintain virtualization technologies and container orchestration tools to optimize resource utilization.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis to ensure system reliability and uptime.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management.
  • Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to integrate infrastructure solutions with application requirements and security policies.
  • Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes to safeguard critical data and services.
  • Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and best practices to continuously improve infrastructure design and operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in system engineering or cloud infrastructure roles.
  • Proficiency with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
  • Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows server administration.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
  • Understanding of networking concepts including VPN, firewalls, load balancers, and DNS.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.

Preferred Qualifications:
