POSITION SUMMARY

The Infrastructure Team Lead is a hands-on technical leader responsible for the day-to-day operation, security, and continuous improvement of the organization's infrastructure environment. This role combines leadership responsibilities with active participation in engineering and operational activities. The Infrastructure Team Lead directs daily team activities, facilitates standups, mentors team members, and serves as a senior technical resource across cloud, networking, security, server, storage, and application infrastructure.

This role also plays a critical part in infrastructure due diligence, integration planning, and the execution of environment migrations and tenant consolidations ensuring acquisitions are brought into Peoplease environment securely and efficiently. This a remote role with opportunity for hybrid work if candidate resides in the Orlando area. Open to other geographic areas based upon qualifications and experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Leadership & Operations
  • Lead daily infrastructure standups and coordinate team activities.
  • Manage workload prioritization, incident response, and operational execution.
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to Infrastructure Engineers and Administrators.
  • Establish and maintain operational standards, procedures, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with application, security, helpdesk, and business teams to support organizational objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, performance, and operational efficiency.
Infrastructure Management
  • Design, implement, maintain, and support enterprise infrastructure solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership across hosted servers, storage, networking, virtualization, cloud platforms, and application infrastructure.
  • Monitor system health, performance, capacity, and availability.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex infrastructure issues and critical incidents.
  • Support disaster recovery, business continuity, backup, and resiliency strategies.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to infrastructure architecture.
Security Leadership
  • Serve as the day-to-day operational lead for infrastructure security initiatives.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Azure security controls and best practices to harden the organization's cloud environment.
  • Lead anti-phishing initiatives and security awareness programs.
  • Train infrastructure staff and employees on cybersecurity best practices.
  • Monitor security events, vulnerabilities, and remediation efforts across the infrastructure environment.
Vendor & Partner Management
  • Manage relationships with infrastructure, cloud, telecommunications, security, and technology vendors.
  • Coordinate and oversee managed service providers (MSPs) and third-party support partners.
  • Evaluate vendor performance, service levels, contracts, and renewal opportunities. Participate in technology procurement, budgeting, and strategic planning activities.
Mergers, Acquisitions & Integration
  • Lead infrastructure due diligence efforts during acquisitions.
  • Assess acquired environments and develop integration roadmaps.
  • Plan and execute infrastructure migrations, tenant consolidations, network integrations, and security standardization efforts.
  • Collaborate with business and technology leaders to ensure seamless integration of acquired organizations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
  • 7+ years of progressive infrastructure engineering or systems administration experience.
  • 2+ years of technical leadership, team lead, or supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Azure ID, Entra ID and security technologies.
  • Broad expertise across servers, storage, networking, virtualization, cloud infrastructure, identity management, and application infrastructure.
  • Experience with disaster recovery planning and business continuity.
  • Familiarity with MSP/vendor oversight.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, mentoring, and problem-solving skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • This is a remote-first role with occasional travel for meetings, training, or industry events.
  • Regular virtual collaboration across distributed teams.
  • Frequent computer-based tasks, including system monitoring, configuration management, and infrastructure tooling.
  • Occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required.
