Governmental organizations are also looking to and depending on AWS for cloud solutions and services to support their missions.
The ADC Infrastructure Operations Planning Team (IOPT) owns creating, monitoring, and reporting status of ADC Infrastructure Operations region readiness plans in support of global ADC customer needs. We highlight risks where they exist and define recovery plans in partnership with our dependencies to meet customer commitments.
We're seeking an experienced Technical Infrastructure Program Manager to support AWS Global Infrastructure Operations (Infra-Ops) organization. This organization operates rapidly, building and scaling high availability data centers supporting government customers. They execute server and network equipment installations, IT hardware repairs, data center mechanical and electrical system operations and maintenance, physical security operations and logistics operations for data center build projects.
The Technical Infrastructure Program Manager will lead cross-functional and technical teams from conceptual design feasibility through requirements, budget, completed design, implementation, testing, and deployment. Along the way, you will use your judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence without authority, analytical talent, technical aptitude, and leadership to collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders across multiple time zones, manage capital budgets, eliminate non-value-add activity, design solutions, remove blockers, and find creative ways to accelerate project delivery.
The successful candidate will be a strong communicator (both written and verbal), not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities, and be capable of understanding mechanical/electrical engineering concepts. They will bring infrastructure and network project management, data center operations, process creation and improvement, critical thinking and risk management skills to this position. They will be able to apply a variety of project management tools, methodologies and techniques for all phases of the project lifecycle and exhibit demonstrated experience in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality and risk management, reporting and metric development/tracking.
Candidate must be comfortable managing remote project delivery teams, and possess the ability to facilitate technical whiteboard sessions to troubleshoot project implementation issues, and remove barriers to project success. The Technical Infrastructure Program Manager will be fully competent in project management and design tools and techniques for all phases of the project life cycle. Other requirements include experience with MS Office, Asana/MS Project, CAD, and architectural design software (CAD or Visio or Bluebeam). Experience with Playbook, SQL and systems integration a plus.
This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. The position further requires the candidate to opt into a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.
Key job responsibilities
- Serve as the Infrastructure Operations conduit between Networking TPMs, Infra Capacity TIPMs, Construction Managers, and the service teams on a number of cross-departmental initiatives, data center builds and projects.
- Participate in current and future region strategic, operational and tactical level planning and forecasting efforts.
- Manage multiple, cross functional and large scale process design and re-engineering efforts.
- Document and standardize cross functional processes and procedures.
- Develop, communicate, and maintain project road maps.
- Effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Additional tasks as assigned by senior leadership.
- Travel required up to 25% of the time.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of technical infrastructure management experience
- Experience with varying scenarios of infrastructure builds
- Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies, related to infrastructure (i.e. network, data center, hardware, software)
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent, or 7+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 5+ years of Microsoft Office tools experience
- 5+ years working knowledge of architectural design software (CAD, Bluebeam, or Visio).
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree or above in engineering, management, or technology, or 3+ years of directly managing and being responsible for multiple large projects experience
- Experience in Data Center Engineering Operations, with a deep understanding of electrical and mechanical data center infrastructure
- Experience in project management including resource planning, managing schedules, reporting project status and prioritizing own tasks and those of other team members for multiple projects
- Experience managing time efficiently, meeting personal goals, and working effectively with internal, partner, and customer teams
- Can show strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working with customers with a passion for delivering exceptional service, or experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
- Experience managing competing priorities across a wide range of stakeholders
- Experience handling ambiguous or undefined challenges through strong problem solving abilities
- Experience working with fast-moving, high-performance teams and driving innovative solutions tailored to unique business environments

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
