Job description

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Operations Engineer to lead datacenter operations for our client in Edison, NJ. This fully onsite role requires hands-on expertise in VMware environments and networking to ensure seamless, reliable infrastructure performance. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of progressive experience driving operational excellence in mission-critical datacenter settings.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day data center operations, including capacity planning, performance monitoring, and incident management.
  • Manage VMware virtualization infrastructure (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter) with hands-on troubleshooting, upgrades, and optimization.
  • Lead networking operations, including configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement infrastructure best practices, disaster recovery, and high-availability strategies.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for incidents, develop SLAs, and drive continuous improvements in uptime and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with security protocols, audits, and industry standards
  • Mentor junior staff and coordinate with vendors for hardware/software support.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in datacenter operations and infrastructure management.
  • Strong technical expertise in VMware with proven deployment and administration experience.
