The New York City Police Department strives to foster a safe and fair city through the strategic deployment of resources, focusing on both crime prevention and addressing quality-of-life concerns while building lasting community relationships.
The Strategic Technology Division is responsible for developing and coordinating deployment of emerging technology applications, strategic IT infrastructure, and enterprise platforms.
The Strategic Technology Division is seeking a candidate for the position of Senior IT Architect who will act in the role of Operations Manager and who will be responsible for the following:
1. Develop and maintain IT architecture diagrams of enterprise, business, data, security.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams for applications across various divisions including infrastructure and networking.
3. Analyze and manage project and infrastructure risks/issues; determine the cause of issues and re-mediate.
4. Ensure development teams follow coding standards, performance optimization, implementing updates or patches and best practice.
5. Oversee major upgrades, including documentation and training and runbooks; Ensure compliance with agency standards.
6. Lead system upgrades and technology implementations and ensure they are completed on time and within budget.
7. Develop and implement comprehensive policies and procedures to ensure the security, reliability and compliance of IT systems.
8. Manage projects related to mobile technology, ensuring that officers have the necessary tools and applications on their devices.
9. Oversee third-party application risk management efforts implementing automated processes.
10. Oversee configuring of IT automation and monitoring tools at an enterprise level.

Qualifications

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics or related field and six years of satisfactory full-time experience related to enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, network architecture and/or IT infrastructure systems; or
2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and ten years of satisfactory full-time experience related to enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, network architecture and/or IT infrastructure systems; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above.
