Job description

Location - Canada - Toronto or Montreal

Why Confluence?

At Confluence, we've always been driven by a commitment to innovation, precision, and partnership in the investment data space. Our global footprint now spans multiple countries, giving our employees the opportunity to get exposure to other countries and cultures. And it stands to reason that none of this would have been possible without the hundreds of hard-working employees who work at Confluence.
This role sits at the centre of a multi year Azure migration programme, moving several core products from legacy data centres into a modern cloud platform. As IT Infrastructure Manager for Cloud Platform, you will be responsible for how these environments are operated, standardised and scaled once delivered.

You will lead the cloud platform team to bring consistency across AWS and Azure, moving from varied legacy practices to a single operating model built around automation, Infrastructure as Code and aligned delivery pipelines. This is not a pure build role. It focuses on making cloud platforms reliable, supportable and ready for long term product growth.
This role suits someone currently operating as a Cloud Platform Manager, Lead Cloud Engineer or Infrastructure Manager in an enterprise or SaaS environment, who wants broader ownership. It offers exposure to a defined transformation programme, but with long term responsibility for platform operations and standards beyond the initial migration.
Why should you apply?
  • Direct involvement in a funded three year Azure migration programme with defined product scope
  • Ownership of how cloud platforms are run, not just how they are built
  • Combination of leadership and hands on technical decision making
  • Exposure to multiple SaaS products transitioning from legacy infrastructure
  • Opportunity to standardise and scale cloud practices across a mid sized fintech organisation
Essential Requirements
  • 10 plus years experience across infrastructure, cloud engineering or platform roles within enterprise or SaaS environments
  • Experience designing and operating cloud platforms in both Azure and AWS, including production environments. We recognise that candidates may have deeper experience in either Azure or AWS and are open to profiles that bring depth in one alongside exposure to the other.
  • Hands on experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or equivalent tools
  • Experience integrating infrastructure delivery into CI or CD pipelines such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or Jenkins
  • Understanding of cloud networking, identity and access management, security controls, monitoring and cost governance
  • Experience managing live production environments including incident response, change management and operational handover
  • Experience leading cloud or platform teams and establishing consistent engineering standards
  • Experience working in organisations transitioning from legacy infrastructure to cloud operating models
Desirable Requirements
  • Experience supporting SaaS products or large scale cloud hosted platforms
  • Experience delivering or supporting migrations from data centre or hybrid environments to cloud
  • Exposure to DevOps and SRE practices within enterprise teams
  • Scripting experience using Python, PowerShell or Bash
  • Experience working with enterprise landing zones or cloud governance frameworks
  • Experience supporting adoption of automation and shared tooling across multiple teams
