About the Role

  • As an AI Infrastructure Engineer, you are a deep technical contributor with subsystem ownership and notable technical influence. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that the AI solutions you contribute to are consistent, secure, and reliable.
  • Architect reusable Terraform modules and Crossplane compositions for multi-environment use
  • Design and maintain multi-environment GitOps structures with FluxCD
  • Engineer advanced ADO pipeline patterns (multi-stage, gated, reusable templates)
  • Solve complex AKS issue (networking, scaling, controllers, identity integration)
  • Implement and maintain Workload identity patterns for AKS workloads
  • Improve team practices through tooling, documentation, and automation improvements
  • Perform technical reviews to ensure quality, security, and consistency
  • Mentor junior AI Infrastructure Engineers, fostering growth and development of team members through knowledge-sharing, constructive code review, and by setting the standard for best practices

Qualifications

  • Proven experience designing, operating, and scaling production Kubernetes platforms, with deep hands-on expertise in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
  • Strong infrastructure-as-code experience using Terraform, with supplemental use of Crossplane and ARM templates.
  • Demonstrated success implementing GitOps operating models, including desired-state enforcement, drift detection, and multi-environment promotion.
  • Experience defining and operating observability standards, including monitoring, alerting, and SLI/SLOs using tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Prometheus, and Grafana.
  • Experience with at least one Cloud Computing platform (experience with Microsoft Azure a plus).
  • Experience with serverless functions, e.g., OpenFaaS
  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of Azure identity and access management, including Managed Identities, service principals, and AKS Workload Identity.
  • Hands-on experience provisioning and supporting Azure resources such as Storage Accounts, Key Vault, ACR, networking (VNets, private endpoints), and monitoring services.
  • Experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and deploying to AKS and Azure services using Octopus Deploy.
  • Kubernetes and/or Azure certifications (CKA, CKAD, Azure Architect, or similar).
  • Demonstrated commitment to DevOps best practices and continuous improvement.
  • You want to stay fresh with regards to practicing engineering. Continuous improvement is a mantra for you as any system you work with gradually improves over time.
  • You enjoy AI and machine learning. You've gone deeper than reading blog posts, ideally having several example machine learning projects you can speak to within industry, academia, or your free time.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Crowe, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $94,500.00 - $212,500.00 per year.
