Job description

Responsibilities
Building Science & Infrastructure Senior technicians are the frontline workers for ECS projects. A Senior Technician independently performs specific field tasks and observations assigned by others on projects of moderate complexity or leads a team to perform field work as qualified. Work is task based and will be performed in the field. Senior Technicians may begin to support and train less experienced staff performing routine field tests and observations. Senior Technicians present a positive customer service attitude and understanding of ECS Core Values.
Responsibilities
  • Testing and observations for new construction or the built environment, specialized testing, building enclosure consulting, forensic investigation, and other building science & infrastructure related services.
  • Perform field and laboratory testing and observations.
  • Testing and observations of various systems while working both indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Daily communication is required with other ECS technicians, project managers, principals, clients and other site representatives.
  • Attend and participate in project meetings with ECS senior staff and/or clients as requested.
  • Excellent understanding of systems and structures and the way we observe, test and investigate them. Document test results and observations in reports appropriately.
  • Calibrate and use field equipment. Maintenance and organization of field equipment. Inventory equipment and notify supervisor of broken or missing equipment.
  • Incidental duties may include office clerical tasks, report production assistance and other office or lab related tasks.
  • You may be expected to train and mentor other ECS technicians.
  • This position requires extended travel to support projects throughout West Texas.
  • Other duties as requested.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • 4+ years of related experience.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate or technology degree in civil engineering or architectural engineering preferred.
  • Professional certifications are highly preferred, including NRCA, IIBEC, AWCI Certified EIFS Inspector and relevant ICC certifications
  • Certifications are required for all types of testing performed. Maintain basic training and certifications plus at least one additional advanced certification in accordance with the Certification and Pay Policy.
  • If driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds a number of times each day, stand for extended periods, walk on uneven ground through various terrains, and have the ability to perform work at heights.
  • Must have the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and follow all local and state laws, road/driving regulations, and company policies.
