The Infrastructure Supervisor position is included in a workplace model that allows a combination of in-person and remote work.

As the Infrastructure Supervisor, essential responsibilities include:  

  • Develop goals based on IT Strategic Plan and prioritize work for the team, coaching staff to meet established objectives as needed.
  • Ensure effective delivery of IT services through establishment and monitoring of SLAs.
  • Actively engaged with the disaster recovery planning, preparation and execution.
  • Prioritize departmental and organization based projects with direction from Technology Operations leadership.
  • Manages the staff in addition to other Human Resources responsibilities such as: hiring, and if necessary disciplinary action and dismissal, setting and monitoring goals, career development, delivering performance appraisals, and approving merit increases.
  • Identify ways for individuals within the team to develop themselves professionally and help build career paths.
  • Evaluate processes to ensure practical application of industry best practices.
  • Provides input into strategic and tactical planning, development, evaluation, and coordination of information and technology systems.
  • Monitor IT infrastructure resources for performance, availability and security.
  • Develops and enforces policy and procedure to ensure the protection of STAR assets and the integrity, security, and privacy of information.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and assess potential use in STAR’s environment.
  • As needed, architect IT environment by designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
  • Responsible for the integrity of STAR’s data center infrastructure components such as servers, storage, virtualization, network, and cloud-delivered solutions. Research current technology trends, attend workshops, user meetings, and conferences, and complete technical training to identify emerging technology STAR may leverage.
  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to infrastructure configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.
  • Assist engineers in implementing new IT systems and performing maintenance of existing IT systems.

 Skills Needed: 

  • Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of leadership and/or supervisory experience.
  • Proven track record of managing IT based projects.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Experience managing vendor and service provider relationships.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to lead and coach employees to perform at their best.
  • Able to link and apply complex technologies to business strategies.
  • Strong project management, organizational skills and attention to details.
  • Experience with infrastructure and systems design.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
