HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT

As IT Director, you will oversee technology systems supporting county operations, develop strategic plans for future needs, and recommend budgets aligned with organizational goals. You will manage computer services, maintain a five-year replacement schedule, and seek grant funding to enhance services and public safety. Your role includes overseeing all IT functions, providing help desk support, guiding telecommunications and 911 operations, and maintaining the county website to keep residents informed and engaged.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, communication technology, electronics, data management, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience performing above and related duties; specific experience in related duties is preferred
  • Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Knowledge of interrelationships and functions of various county departments and databases, including county tax processes and procedures
  • Strong understanding of system design concepts, computer mainframe networking, and information system management principles
  • Proficient in database management, budgeting techniques, and methods for project control
  • Knowledge of hardware configurations and capabilities, operating system fundamentals, and data communication concepts
  • Skilled in using G-Suite, Microsoft Office applications, Adobe software, and web languages (e.g., HTML) as well as VOIP protocols
  • Experience with network operations, server maintenance, and adherence to BCI security standards and the Victim Information Notification Education System (VINES)
  • Ability to manage complex computer system operations and to develop interdepartmental cooperation regarding computer operations
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Mechanical aptitude for the installation and maintenance of PCs, printers, and related hardware
  • Ability to foster effective working relationships with supervisors, elected officials, subordinates, and fellow employees
  • A+, Security+, Network+, and/or CASP certifications are desirable
