A-Core: Concrete Specialists is a growing company of people who make efforts to do their very best every day. We have been hiring and developing many of the concrete industry's most highly skilled and safety conscious individuals for almost 50 years. A-Core was founded from one man's desire to make enough money to feed his family. It has now grown to 13 offices in 9 states with over 300 employees and growing.
We are seeking an experienced Information Technology (IT) Technician with good problem-solving ability. The IT Technician will serve as a reference point for all IT related queries at the user level, responding to user needs in a timely manner and ensuring the optimal running of all systems. The IT Technician must have a thorough knowledge of computer software and hardware and a variety of internet applications, networks, and operating systems. They will also be required to support the business by coordinating the delivery of IT services, policies and initiatives, ensuring IT policies and processes support the company's strategic objectives and are in compliance with all regulatory requirements. This position reports directly to the head of IT & Security.
Experience and Expertise:
  • Support all offices, both local and remote, throughout the company
  • Set up and maintain computers, laptops, mobile devices, and necessary peripheral devices
  • Work with servers, active directory, and virtual networks in Microsoft Azure
  • Set up/remove user accounts on systems (network, email, phone, security, etc.)
  • Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
  • Assist in maintaining local networks in ways that optimize performance
  • Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
  • Maintain software and firmware patches, updates, and fixes used on all devices (server, desktop, tablet, phone) including OS, anti-virus, and malware protection
  • Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
  • Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule
  • Identify computer or network equipment shortages, expirations, scheduled updates, and place orders
  • Maintain 24x7 availability to address critical business and/or IT situations
  • Evaluate new technologies and develop recommendations in support of a forward-looking IT strategy
  • Recommend, plan, and implement infrastructure and application enhancements
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and systems
  • Manage IT inventory across the company

Organizational and Technical Skills:
  • 2-3 years of practical experience
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication
  • Excellent organizational, categorization, and prioritization
  • Active listing to customers' needs, understanding problems and implementing solutions
  • Resourceful and able to execute tasks with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work on several projects at once and manage competing priorities
  • High tolerance for pressure generated from problem situations
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving
  • Work with IT leadership to achieve business and division goals
  • Strong knowledge of MS Windows and Office 365
  • Able to travel within the US with short notice

Preferred Technical Knowledge and Experience:
  • Minimum associate's degree
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Cloud-based file management solutions (Egnyte) & backup solutions (Acronis)
  • Microsoft Azure, NinjaOne Remote Management, iOS and Android systems
  • Networking (TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, WiFi, etc.), SonicWall firewalls, computer security, and local security systems.
  • VoIP, preferably Crexendo
  • Mobile Device Management (MDM), preferably JAMF
  • Databases, preferably SQL
  • Certifications preferred such as A+, Network+, and Security+
