Koniag Professional Services, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Systems Architect with KPS and our government customer in the DC Metro area. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust. This position is for a Future New Business Opportunity.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to: The Systems Architect will be responsible for the following tasks: * Establish system information requirements by analyzing the information provided by engineers in the development of enterprise-wide or large-scale information systems. * Design system architecture, including software, hardware, and communications components, to support the total requirements and ensure compatibility with present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces. * Ensure that the designed systems are compatible and in compliance with standards for open systems architectures, such as the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) and ISO reference models, as well as profiles of standards like the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Open Systems Environment (OSE) reference model.

* Ensure that the common operating environment is compliant with the Agency's enterprise architecture and applicable reference models. * Evaluate analytically and systematically problems related to workflows, organization, and planning, and develop appropriate corrective actions. * Provide daily supervision and direction to staff, ensuring effective team collaboration and adherence to project objectives.

* Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in systems architecture and design. * Collaborate with stakeholders, including project managers, developers, and subject matter experts, to ensure system requirements are met and align with business objectives. * Participate in the development and implementation of system testing, deployment, and maintenance strategies.

* Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and security protocols throughout the system development lifecycle. * Other duties as assigned Requirements Education: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. * Ability to obtain a Public Trust Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: * Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in systems architecture, design, and development.

* Level I (DB01) experience, with expertise in establishing system information requirements, designing architectures, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and reference models. * Strong technical background and proficiency in programming languages, operating systems, and database management systems. * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.

* Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to supervise and direct staff effectively. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. * Knowledge of industry best practices, standards, and regulations related to systems architecture and information systems development.

* Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies.
