What You Will Do: 

  • Supports established Information Desk duties, including directing and supporting volunteer staff. Assists with updating and reviewing information desk procedures, to optimize productivity.
  • Professionally greets and directs guests who arrive at the hospital Main Entrance.  Responds to patient needs by seeking appropriate solutions to problems. 
  • Assists patients by escorting and/or providing directions to ancillary departments.
  • Promotes excellent guest relations at all times. 
  • Keeps work area clean and neat.  Contacts Housekeeping for assistance when needed.
  • Answers the telephone using the appropriate greetings.  Assists callers with information requested, transferring callers to patient rooms, and providing patient room numbers, per HIPAA guidelines. 
  • Contacts Security Officer when assistance is needed or requested.
  • Assists with clerical duties for the Registration, Financial Counseling, and Central Scheduling staff.
  • Communicates with Patient Registration Supervisor if problems occur that need attention.

What You Will Need: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrates good computer skills.
  • Must be friendly, pleasant, courteous, and outgoing.
  • Must demonstrate good, mature judgment when making decisions pertaining to guests. 
  • Willingness to work varied hours including weekends, evenings and holidays.
  • Must demonstrate personal attributes such as tact, patience, good grammar, retentive memory, pleasant voice and appearance.
  • Must be able to understand directions and communicate and respond to inquiries; requires excellent interpersonal skills to interact courteously and effectively with all guests and employees.
  • Must be able to move freely and quickly about the Medical Center. 
  • Must be able to occasionally move, lift, and/or carry medium weight materials, must be able to transport most patients and guests safely in a wheelchair.
