Informaticsย Projectย Coordinators provide: (1) support for informatics projects including project management and reporting, and (2) coordination with Maine CDCโ€™s Infectious Disease Epidemiology Informatics team.ย ย Work is performed under administrative direction.ย 

  1. Knowledge, Skills and Certifications

Specific qualifications needed to perform the job including, necessary licenses, knowledge, skills, education, experience, training, and technical skills.

Required:ย 

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Healthย or related fields (Informatics, Biostatistics etc.), and 4 years of relevant experienceย 
  • Two (2) years relevant work experience and training in data manipulation and visualization software such as Alteryx, Excel, GIS, SAS, SQL, R Tableau, Python, etc.ย ย 
  • Communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.ย ย 
  • Knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word.ย 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.ย

Preferred:ย 

  • Masterโ€™s Degree in Public Health, Informatics, or related field.ย 
  • At least two years of relevant work experienceย

  • Coordinate andย participateย in informatics team and project meetings.ย 
  • Track project details within chosen tracking system.ย 
  • Ensure staffย are meetingย necessary timelines.ย 
  • Identifyย barriers to progress and work toย eliminateย them.ย 
  • Support informatics grant writing and performance measure reporting.ย ย 
  • Participate in Data Modernization Initiative efforts.ย 
  • Participate in and contribute to overall Infectious Disease Epidemiology Informatics Program planning and evaluation activities.ย 
  • Additionalย duties as reasonably assigned.ย 
  1. Schedule

Summary of work schedule, including normal working hours, on-call expectations, allowed time off (which is non-billable), ability to work remote.

  • These positions are full-time, with working hours of 8 AM โ€“ 5 PM Eastern Time, Monday-Friday. Modified schedules may beย requiredย as operationally required by Maine CDC.ย ย Hours worked over 45 are paid on a straight basis (hour for hour compensation) when specifically pre-approved in writing by the Maine CDC manager.ย ย ย 
  • Each resource must conform to the State working schedule (i.e., snow days, holidays etc.), if the State of Maine is working the contractor willย be requiredย to work.ย 
  • May routinely workย remoteย fiveย (5) daysย per week.ย ย 
  • All vacant positions must be approved by the Department prior to posting.ย ย If approved for hire, vacant positions must be posted publicly within seven (7) days of approval for a minimum of 14 days.ย All rates must be approved by the Maine CDC manager prior to an offer being made to the candidate.ย 
  • Anย additionalย 20ย daysย PTO beyond the minimum (30 days total per year)ย
