Job Summary

The Material Handler 3 is responsible for the efficient and accurate movement, storage, and control of materials within Augusta Life Sciences US OpCo I LLC's facilities. This role involves advanced material handling tasks, ensuring the timely and correct delivery of materials to production, shipping, and receiving, while adhering to all safety and quality standards.

Job Responsibilities

  • Operate various material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and order pickers, in a safe and efficient manner to move, stack, and retrieve materials.

  • Perform advanced receiving duties, including verifying incoming shipments against purchase orders, inspecting for damage, and accurately recording receipt information in the inventory management system.

  • Execute complex order fulfillment processes, including picking, packing, and preparing materials for shipment according to specific customer or production requirements.

  • Conduct cycle counts and assist with physical inventories to ensure inventory accuracy and reconcile discrepancies.

  • Load and unload trucks and containers, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement of goods.

  • Utilize inventory management software and handheld scanners to track material locations, movements, and quantities.

  • Identify and resolve material discrepancies, damaged goods, or incorrect shipments, escalating issues to supervisors as needed.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.

  • Train and mentor less experienced material handlers (Material Handler 1 & 2) on best practices, safety protocols, and equipment operation.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to warehousing, logistics, and material flow.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operations.

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a material handling or warehouse role, preferably within a manufacturing or life sciences environment.

  • Proven ability to safely operate various material handling equipment, including a valid forklift operator certification preferred.

  • Strong understanding of inventory control principles and warehouse best practices.

  • Proficient in using inventory management systems (e.g., ERP, WMS) and handheld scanning devices.

  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions accurately.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot material-related issues.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and perform physical tasks that involve standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods.

  • Basic computer proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).

  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality.
