Job description

Job Summary:
Talantage HR and Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced Statewide EHR Project Manager to lead the planning, implementation, and optimization of Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems across correctional healthcare facilities. The role involves overseeing complex, multi-site implementations, managing project timelines and budgets, and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards while collaborating with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
• Lead statewide EHR implementation, upgrade, and optimization projects across multiple correctional facilities
• Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including clinical, operational, IT, security, and vendor stakeholders
• Track project milestones, risks, dependencies, and issues; implement mitigation strategies
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
• Partner with physicians, nurses, mental health providers, and correctional healthcare staff to align EHR functionality with clinical workflows
• Facilitate workflow analysis, process redesign, and change management initiatives
• Ensure minimal disruption to patient care during system deployments and upgrades
• Ensure EHR implementations comply with HIPAA, NCCHC, ACA, state DOC requirements, and contractual obligations
• Coordinate security reviews, access controls, and audit readiness activities
• Support data governance, privacy, and reporting requirements in secure correctional environments
• Manage relationships with EHR vendors, implementation partners, and contracted service providers
• Oversee vendor deliverables, SLAs, and performance metrics
• Serve as the primary point of contact for client leadership and executive stakeholders
• Oversee development and execution of end-user training strategies
• Coordinate go-live planning, cutover activities, and post-go-live support
• Ensure issues are triaged, escalated, and resolved efficiently
• Provide regular status updates, dashboards, and executive-level reporting
• Document project outcomes, lessons learned, and best practices
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across correctional healthcare technology
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, Project Management, or related field (required)
• 5+ years of project management experience in healthcare IT or EHR implementations
• 3+ years managing large-scale, multi-site EHR projects
• Experience working in correctional healthcare, public health, Medicaid, or government healthcare environments
• Proven experience managing clinical and operational stakeholders
• Strong understanding of EHR workflows and clinical documentation processes
• Experience managing vendors and contracted service providers
• Demonstrated ability to manage risk, change, and complex dependencies
• Ability to travel to correctional facilities as required
• Ability to obtain required security clearance, including background check and drug screening
Preferred:
• Experience with EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Meditech, or similar
• Knowledge of correctional healthcare standards (NCCHC, ACA)
• Familiarity with HL7, FHIR, ICD-10
• PMP, PMI-ACP, or similar certification
