Opportunity Overview
We have an immediate opening for an OR/PACU Medical Assistant to join our team at Shady Grove Fertility in Fairfax, Virginia.
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM or 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM Eastern Time; Holiday rotation as needed
  • Compensation: $22 to $26 per hour (commensurate with experience)

In this role, the OR/PACU Medical Assistant will:
  • Assist as scrub technician in the OR
  • Properly sterile and aseptic technique and setup/use of equipment
  • Prepare rooms for all procedures while ensuring necessary instruments, supplies and equipment are available
  • Use technical skill in the care and use of instruments, supplies and equipment used during a surgical procedure
  • Conduct proper sanitary maintenance of equipment according to OSHA guidelines
  • Use an autoclave and clean per protocol
  • Provide ultrasound guidance under physician's supervision during transfers
  • Comfort patients by anticipating anxieties, answering questions, providing support

Qualifications and Skills Include:
  • Must have completed formal MA education/certification
  • Prior experience in an OR/Ambulatory Surgical setting
  • Experience in women's health (e.g., OB/GYN) is required
  • Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer
  • Infertility/IVF experience is preferred
  • Phlebotomy skills are preferred
  • Professionalism and strong customer service skills a must
