Job description

Job Title: Medical Assistant

Employment Type: Contract

Pay Rate: $23 - $26 / hour

Duration: Approx. 3-4 months with potential to extend

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM

Location: Split between Reston, VA (majority of time) and McLean, VA

Parking: Free onsite parking available at both locations

Ideal Start Date: August 3rd

Addison Group is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant on behalf of our client for a short-term contract opportunity with potential for extension. This role is ideal for a candidate who enjoys a mix of clinical and administrative responsibilities and is comfortable supporting multiple specialty providers in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and check in patients, verify demographic and insurance information, and update records as needed.
  • Prepare exam rooms and patients for provider visits by collecting vitals, reviewing medications, and documenting relevant information.
  • Support physicians and clinical staff during patient appointments and office procedures.
  • Assist with front office functions including answering phones, routing messages, scheduling support, and patient service tasks.
  • Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record system.
  • Perform patient follow-up activities, coordinate referrals, and assist with administrative healthcare workflows.
  • Collect and process specimens, conduct basic clinical testing within scope, and support overall patient care operations.
  • Help maintain exam rooms, equipment, and clinical supplies to ensure a safe and organized environment.
  • Provide support across multiple specialties and adapt to varying provider workflows and patient populations.
  • Collaborate with the care team to promote efficient patient flow and a positive patient experience.

Qualifications

  • Certified Medical Assistant (Required)
  • Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience in a clinical or ambulatory setting
  • Comfortable balancing both clinical and administrative responsibilities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to different providers, specialties, and daily priorities
  • Experience with EMR systems preferred; software-specific training will be provided
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between Reston and McLean locations
