Key responsibilities

  • Perform routine administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in and out, verifying insurance, and charting in EHR/EMR systems.

  • Conduct clinical duties including taking vital signs, rooming patients, administering injections, performing EKGs, collecting specimens, assisting with minor procedures, and wound care.

  • Support patient care by communicating with patients and providers, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring a professional and organized workflow.


Job description

We are seeking a Medical Assistant to become a part of our team! You will perform routine administrative and clinical assignments to keep the medical facility running smoothly.

Medical Assistant – Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Completion of a Medical Assistant training program (preferred by most clinics)

  • Certification (often required or strongly preferred):

    • CMA (AAMA)

    • RMA (AMT)

    • CCMA (NHA)

  • Basic life support (CPR/BLS) certification

  • Knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy laws

  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening

  • Up-to-date immunizations (TB, Hep B, flu, etc.)

Medical Assistant – Clinical Skills

  • Taking vital signs (BP, pulse, temp, respirations, oxygen)

  • Rooming patients and documenting chief complaints

  • Administering injections (IM, SubQ) (if allowed by state)

  • Performing EKGs

  • Phlebotomy and specimen collection

  • Assisting with minor procedures

  • Medication reconciliation

  • Wound care and dressing changes

  • Infection control and sterilization

  • Basic lab testing (urinalysis, glucose, pregnancy tests)

Medical Assistant – Administrative Skills

  • Scheduling appointments

  • Checking patients in and out
