Industrial Sewing Machine Operator - Youngstown, OH
Pay: $16.00 per hour starting; $16.50 per hour after union conversion
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM
Job Type: Full-time
Location: On-site in Youngstown, Ohio
Start Date: ASAP
We are hiring Industrial Sewing Machine Operators for full-time positions at a union manufacturing facility in Youngstown. The facility produces decorative pillows and cushions in a modern, climate-controlled environment.
Candidates with either industrial sewing experience or home-sewing experience are encouraged to apply. You will receive training on the facility's industrial sewing processes and equipment.
Responsibilities

  • Operate industrial sewing machines to close pillow openings after filling.

  • Perform minor repairs, including fixing tears, holes, and open seams.

  • Trim excess threads for a clean, finished product.

  • Inspect pillows for dirt, tears, missing buttons, and other quality issues.

  • Make corrections when needed.

  • Close zippers and remove zipper handles with pliers when required.

  • Pack and box completed pillows for shipment.

  • Meet production quotas while maintaining quality standards.

  • Follow safety procedures and report broken needle pieces or machine malfunctions.

  • Keep the work area clean and organized.

Qualifications

  • Previous sewing experience is required.

  • Industrial sewing and home-sewing experience will be considered.
